Martyrdom of Imam Hussain, Paris

In commemoration of the month of Muharram and the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, Minahj-ul-Qur’an Women and Sisters league held a sisters gathering to explain the significance of the event and how we can learn lessons from it in our daily lives.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an by sister Iram Humayun followed by nasheeds sung by the younger children.

Many beautiful nasheeds were sung also by the other sisters including Sister Sabah Arshad, Sister Somayyah and the Humayun sisters Nasheed group.

Sister Nafisa Arshad and Sister Sheeba both delivered lectures on the events that took place in Karbala, the bravery displayed by the ‘Ahle Bayt’ of the Holy Prophet (saw), their loyalty and steadfastness in the Deen despite great opposition and the sacrifices they made to ensure that Islam would remain alive for all times and all ages.

Sister Mumtaz Malik presented poetry on the month of Muharram and brought many of the audience to tears.

This event was also an opportunity to congratulate all of the sisters who were given the opportunity to attend the Hajj this year.  Sister Noor, the stage secretary, invited the new ‘Hajjaj’ to come and share their experiences.  Sister Sultana Butt in particular gave a heart warming account of her Hajj experience which was made unique by being in the company of her spiritual Shaykh, Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Finally Shaykh Hafiz Iqbal Azam delivered a lecture on the importance of spiritual gatherings and related a Hadith that Allah Almighty sends His Angels onto the earth to listen to the spiritual gatherings.  Angels form circles around the gathering and then relay all the events back to Allah Almighty.

May Allah Ta’ala accept out humble offerings and give us the strength to do more.
