Qadri asks supporters to vacate Parliament House
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) head Allama Tahir ul Qadri on Wednesday asked his workers to vacate the premises of Parliament House on the directive of Supreme Court.
“All those people who are camping inside the Parliament House move outside the building by tomorrow as ordered by the Chief Justice of Pakistan,” Qadri told his crowd.
He rejected allegations that his workers had stormed the building of Pakistan Television (PTV).
“We did not attack the PTV, we had no such plan,” Qadri said. Some well-trained people had shut down the transmission of PTV under a plan for few minutes, he said.
“PPP may not like my criticism, but it needs to shut up opposition leader Khursheed Shah,” he said. “I ask Khursheed Shah to hold his tongue otherwise I will expose the PPP.”
Qadri accused Khursheed Shah of supporting terrorists in Sindh. “Khursheed Shah is a terrorist. My criticism is only aimed at him.”
He reiterated that PAT would not back off from his demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. “I reject rumours that we are calling off our sit-in,” he maintained.
“We will not move from here unless this government is ousted from power.”
Qadri demanded that all those nominated in FIR of Model Town case should be arrested and put on trial. The accused should be placed on exit-control list (ECL), he stressed.
The PAT chief urged residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi to send toys and books for children.
Referring to finding of judicial commission, he asked Shahbaz Sharif to honor his commitment and resign from his seat.
The government, he said, could not reject the commission’s report.
