Sisters Spiritual Training Camp

Alhamdulillah, by the blessings of Allah (Subhana wa tala) and The Holy Prophet (Sallallaho alaihi wa sallim), the second Mujlis (spiritual gathering) for women was arranged on the 30th of December 2005. Approximately a hundred women gathered for this event.

Sister Fatima Jamil began an inspiring night at ten in the evening by recitation of the Holy Quran. All sisters then rendered the Qasida Burda Sharif and heart-warming naats .

Aunty Rubina Tariq hosted the program; she did an excellent job by inviting sisters to recite naats on the stage between speakers to add to the spiritual atmosphere. Sister Fatima Zafar, Amna Zafar, Safia Ishfaq and Salma Zafar recited naats with duff, which enhanced the atmosphere of the mehfil and also motivated the other sisters to actively express their love to the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho alaihi wa sallim). Fatima Jamil, Amna Javid, Zeinab Mahmood, Hira Khan, Aeysha Iqbal, Taqweem Ayoub and Annam Butt then took part enthusiastically in the remainder of the program.

Following this, Sister Safia Ishfaq delivered an inspiring lecture on the topic of “Iman”. Later, a sumptuous dinner was served for all.

The mehfil continued with a presentation and demonstration by Aunty Afsha Arshid, Zahida Ansari and Salma Zafar on how “ghusl” (a formal full body cleansing ritual) is conducted on a deceased woman. This session was excellent as it was practically oriented and they explained the importance of performing the “ghusl” correctly and clarified doubts from the audience.

Later our chief guest from Italy, Hafiz Faiz Ahmad sang soulful naats to strengthen the mehfil.

The sisters found the question and answer session extremely useful, which was conducted by our Imam and Ameer-e-Tehreeq Allamah Noor Ahmad Noor.

After a break for Salaat-ul-Tasbee, which was lead by Aunty Salma Zafar, Sister Safia Ishfaq conducted a dhikr mehfil, which added an emotional charge to the atmosphere.

The mehfil drew to an end with Salaam and Dua and then finally with Salaat-ul-Fajr, along with distribution of breakfast on the 31st of December 2005.

We would like to express our gratitude to the executives of the Minhaj ul Quran (uncle Afzal Ansari, uncle Pervaiz Nisar and uncle Zafar Iqbal) who helped us to organise this spiritual training camp. May Allah reward them with His blessings. (Ameen)
