Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri advised complete bed rest for 72 hours

A team of doctors who are treating PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri examined him thoroughly at his residence yesterday and advised him complete bed rest for 72 hours. The doctors also suggested that the PAT leader should be shifted to hospital for treatment. In response to this suggestion, Dr Qadri said that he would prefer to undergo treatment at his home because in case he got shifted to hospital, his workers around the world would become anxious and discipline of hospital will be affected adversely due to rush of people. A team of five doctors including two foreign doctors is treating Dr Qadri. Requisite machinery has been provided at his residence for necessary medical tests.

According to Dr Zubair, when the PAT leader suffered from heart ailment for the first time in 1982, it took him two years to recover fully from it. According to doctors, Dr Qadri is suffering from a disease known as ‘Ejection Fraction’ in which heart does not fully pump blood. His heart beat has adversely been affected by this disease and consequently he is feeling a stress on his heart. He has high blood pressure and is finding it difficult to speak at the same time.

The doctors have told that facilities for all initial tests such as ECG have been arranged at his residence. The PAT chief has thanked all his well wishers who prayed for his recovery, telephoned him and sent bouquets. He has asked his workers to pray for his health.

Meanwhile, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that PTI has neither formally informed PAT about schedule of its public meeting nor has it invited PAT so far. He said that consultations at party level will only be held after formal invitation is extended. He said that PTI leaders had requested for a meeting with PAT leadership but time and venue of the proposed meeting are yet to be worked out. He further said that if former Federal Minister Zahid Hamid can resign from his ministry before he is declared guilty in treason case, why can the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister Punjab and five federal ministers not resign following their nomination in FIR in Model Town case?

According to PAT media cell, PAT has postponed its upcoming public meeting in Sargodha on December 5 due to poor health of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. The new date will be announced after full recovery of the PAT chief.
