JIT given deadline to conclude favourable investigation: PAT
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has claimed that the Prime Minister has given a deadline of 15 days to the head of JIT to conclude a favourable investigation. He said that the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister, Federal Ministers and high police officers will be declared innocent in the investigation and a few lowly police officials will be made scapegoat. He said that the head of JIT will announce a decision, already scripted in Patalya House instead of wasting time in exchange of notices and procedures, adding that he would get reward for his ‘services’.
The PAT Secretary General made it clear that his party would not accept such a JIT as does not enjoy the confidence of heirs of Model Town tragedy. He asked the rulers of Punjab as to why the report of Judicial Tribunal is not being published. He asked the JIT to read the inquiry report instead of issuing notices to PAT leadership. He said that the JIT was formed on the will of the Chief Minister, and that is why we have boycotted it.
