Dr Tahirul Qadri terms terrorism as biggest problem

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri said Islam has no bearing on terrorism, adding the menace of terrorism is the biggest and frontmost problem of the country, SAMAA reported on Sunday.

Addressing via video-link a large gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan in connection with Milad Conference, he called for all political parties to rise to the occasion in order to uproot terrorism from the country, adding the Model Town tragedy was a state terrorism.

Referring to Peshawar tragedy where 140 schoolchildren were massacred in brutal Taliban attack on December 16, Dr. Qadri was of the view that those who are spilling the blood of the innocent people, are doing no service to Islam.

“Those who butchered children are manifest enemies of Islam,” he argued while outlining the Islamic philosophy of peace.

He vowed to resume the struggle for the usurped rights of the common man from where he left as soon as returns home after his recuperation.

The PAT chief remarked, “I came to the US only for my medical treatment. I will soon return home and again take up the unfinished struggle.”

It should be mentioned here that the Muslim world celebrates Milad (birthday) of the holy Prophet (peace be upon him) with traditional zeal, enthusiasm and religious festivities on 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal.

Mentioning the Model Town massacre where at least 14 people were shot to death with straight gunshots by police personnel on June 17, Dr. Tahirul Qadri asserted the government wants to blackjack his party into joining its Joint Investigation Team. –SAMAA
