USA: MWL celebrates Milad-un- Nabi (SAW)
Minhaj Women League (Dallas chapter) organized a Milad-un-Nabi celebration in the beautifully decorated “Uways Al Qarani” auditorium hall of Minhaj-ul-Quran Community Center Dallas. The initial proceedings of the event started with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Hamd by Sister Sadia Shakeel, who has been gifted by Allah (SWT) with a beautiful voice. Sister Shazia Amer and Sister Rehana Ahmed were the main moderators of the program and were the driving forces behind the team of Nasheed reciters and other participants of the program.
Sister Aisha Hussain, who is the general secretary of the Minhaj Women League, also addressed the participants present at the event. In her welcome note, she explained the mission of MQI and emphasized the significance of establishing and sustaining the link of love with our beloved Prophet (saw). She extended a warm invitation to all present to reach out to more members in the community. She also emphasized the importance of mothers in upbringing their children with the reference of Quran and Hadith. Soon after the welcome note, Sister Shazia Amer took to the stage with her group of Nasheed reciters. The group consisted of Sister Sadia Shakeel, Sister Sadia Ahmed, Sister Saba Choudhry, Sister Khalida Haneef and Sister Seema Ajaz. They recited the praises on the Holy Prophet (saw) in the most beautiful and eloquent manner. With their angelic voices they mesmerized and moved the audience to tears with the remembrance of the beloved Prophet (saw). They recited heart touching naats in Urdu and Punjabi. The audience was enthralled and engaged in the recitation of the nasheeds. After a short break for Asr prayers, the participants and guests were again invited to take their seats for the second part of the event.
In the second part of the program, Treasurer of Minhaj Women League Sister Anjum Rasheed introduced the guest speaker, Scholar Faiza Qadri. Sister Faiza Qadri, who, in addition to holding a master’s degree in Islamic studies and completing five years of Shariah course (from Minhaj College of Women, Lahore Pakistan) has also been involved in Dawah work for last ten years in the UK. She also has given many Islamic lectures and taught classes for the youth all over Europe, Canada, Pakistan and Dallas (USA). Scholar Faiza Qadri delivered an enlightening and engaging speech on how the Prophet (saw) was a mercy to mankind and educated people on the love and respect of Sahaba, trees, animals and inanimate objects towards the beloved Prophet (saw). She captivated the audience with her powerful and articulate speech. She explained the virtues of Ahl-e-Bayt and importance of love of Ahl-e-Bayt. She highlighted the significance of the celebration of Mawlid-al-Nabi. She also pointed out the efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for spreading the global message of love, peace, forbearance, harmony, cooperation and protection of human rights. A gifted speaker that she is, her speech moved the audience to tears and filled their hearts with the love of the Prophet (saw).
Sister Riffat Qazi, who is the President of Women’s League, expressed her gratitude to all the guests for taking the time out and joining together to celebrate the blessed birth of our most beloved master (saw). Sister Sadia Shakeel concluded the event with salaam and dua. At the end of the event, the guests were served with Ziyaft-e-Milad (dinner in connection with the birthday of the Prophet SAW). Free CDs of Shaykh-ul-Islam’s lecture on Mawlid al-Nabi were also distributed at the end of the program. Once again the event ended, leaving behind sweet memories which will be kept for a long time.
