Senate ‘horse and cattle’ show ticket available from PM House: Dr. Tahirul Qadri

Says senate doors shut for educated and poor Pakistanis as billions been spent to purchase seats

LAHORE: [01-March-2015] Addressing the central executive committee the Quaid of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that the people who have plundered the national wealth and have amassed billions of ill-gotten Black money have closed the doors of the Senate of Pakistan on the poor people of the country. He said the tickets for senate ‘horse and cattle show’ can be purchased from the PM House.

The meeting which was called on emergency basis was informed by the PAT chief that sacks of money have been opened to buy senate seats and this has made Pakistan a laughing stock all over the world and has bought a bad name to the country.

He said the aspirants have not been given party tickets rather they have purchased them from their relevant parties otherwise how could a person residing in one province contest these elections from another province. He said this process has closed the doors of the senate for the educated and poor people of the country.

Dr. Tahirul Qadri congratulated the winning candidates in the Lahore High Court Bar elections and said that they were supported by lawyers who are affiliated with the PAT. He said it was a good omen and greeted the newly elected president Pir Masood Chishti Advocate and his other panel members.

The PAT chief said that after rewarding the culprit nominated in the Model Town killing incident Dr. Taqueer Shah, now another nominated accused police Inspector has been appointed as SHO of Police Station Haar, near Badian, Lahore. He said that the Model Town incident was a glaring example of State-sponsored terrorism and the Punjab Government is rewarding all those responsible for the killings of PAT workers. He said that the rulers are mistaken that they will be able to escape punishment for the killing of PAT workers as we will not rest until justice is served in this case and all those responsible for the killings are convicted and given exemplary punishment.

Talking about the horse trading in the senate elections, Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that as long as the inventors of horse trading and Changa Manga politics are in power nothing can be done in a clean and clear manner. He said they are skillful and masters in purchasing loyalties and during the Zia era they had distributed 2 to 5 million rupees to buy votes and loyalties. And it was the than Punjab Chief Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif who did this as he was given the task of winning general elections. He said this was the actual beginning of horse trading in the country and the crown for this is on the head of present rulers.

He said only to clear the country of this high level corruption the PAT had started a long march and the workers will have to brace themselves for another such march very soon. He said as long we breathe we will continue our struggle to change this system of corruption and tyranny.
