Quiz & speech competition held on life of Mujaddid Alf Sani

A quiz and speech competition was held at Minhaj College for Women on March 19 to pay gratitude to Mujaddid Alf Sani under the banner of Bazm-e-Minhaj. The topic was “Wo Hind Main Sarmaya e Millat ka Nigehbaan.” The Deputy Chairman Board of Governors of Minhaj University Lahore, Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presided over the event. The chief guest of the programme was Dr. Rafique Ahmed (Vice Chairman Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust and ex-Vice Chancellor of the Universities of Punjab and Bahawalpur). Many other dignified personalities which honored the ceremony with their presence were Dr.Samar Fatima (Principal MCW), Prof. Muhammad Iqbal Mujaddidi, Prof. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed Azmi, Prof. Syed Muhammad Fakheem ul Shuwaim Naqvi , Allama Abdul Wahid Naqshbandi, Mufti Ghulam Hassan Qadri , Prof. Dr Humayyon Abbass Shams, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Zahid and Dr. Jamila Shaukat . The proceeding of the competition went underway with the recitation from Holy Quran followed by Naat recitation. Aftab Ahmed Qadri, in his welcome address, warmly welcomed the President and the chief guests. Beenish Rafique, Sadia Amin and Sadia Tazeem conducted the proceedings of the programme in a befitting manner.

The members of jury panel included Prof. Mukhtar Azmi, Prof Syed Muhammad Fakheem ul Shuwaim Naqvi and Allama Abdul Wahid Naqshbandi. The competition was divided into two sessions. First session comprised of 1st Year to BS-II and 2nd Session from BS-IV to M. Phil. Great zeal and enthusiasm was seen among the participants. “Manqabats” on Mujaddid Alf Sani were also presented which made the event meaningful. A quiz session was held among the students. Participants were called upon the stage for this urpose. Prizes were given to Hadia Saqib Hashmi, Uzma Gull, Wayyam Zarina and Rabia Tufail. Dr. Jamila Shaukat, while addressing the ceremony, said that the educational institute having such students full of spirit and determination can definitely bring about revolution.

In his views on the occasion, Dr. Rafique Ahmed said that the building of this institute, students and style is an example in itself. It has motivated and inspired youth. He threw light on the importance of Two-Nation Theory. Later on chief judge Prof. Dr Mukhtar Ahmed Azmi announced the results. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-din Qadri gave away prizes to Samra Mustafa, Iqra Mubeen, Ghanwa Batool, Hafiza Rabia Noreen, Saman Shehzadi. Special prize was given to Faria Ghazal.

At last the President of the event Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri addressed the gathering on the life and contributions of Mujaddid Alf Saani. He elaborated on the meaning of Mujaddid (revivalist) and put a glance on his personality and ideology. He said that if we want to see the Mujaddid Alf Sani of this era, we can see Shayk- ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri who is working hard to revive Islam in contemporary age.

The main organizer of the event was Noor ul Zaman Noori (lecturer and In-charge Urdu Society) had to leave a day before the event due to sad demise of his father in emergency. The teachers and students who played an active role in making the programme a roaring success included Miss. Umme Habiba, Miss Fauzia, Sir Aftab Ahmed, Sir Wasif, Memoona Saif, Hajra Tabassum, Saba Dar, Rabia Azher, Shumaila Nazar, , Momna Malik, Mariya Urooj, Sadia Amin, Sadia Tazeem and Hadia Saqib Hashmi.
