Pakistan being cornered and isolated in the world: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the rulers without any foreign minister and foreign policy have pushed Pakistan into a blind alley. He said that Pakistan will be further isolated if these rulers continue to stay in power. He said that they lost a rare opportunity of result-oriented mediation on the sensitive issue of Yemen through backdoor diplomacy and ended up annoying the friendly country by staging a political façade in the name of consultations. He said that unwise ‘parliamentary intellectuals’ added fuel to fire instead of offering a solid solution to the crisis and thus indulged in an act of dividing the nation.

The PAT chief expressed these views while talking to GM Malik, Director of MQI Foreign Affairs on telephone from abroad yesterday. He appealed to opinion-makers, intellectuals, political thinkers, social and rights activists to come forward and play their role in uniting the Muslim world in a compact whole at this critical juncture, adding that they should stop the unity of Muslim world from being subjected to parochial political interests. He said that the situation demands that the heads of the governments and states within the Muslim world should put their heads together to find a solution to the problem. He said that the need of unity could not have been greater before than it is today.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the brotherly country of Saudi Arabia was made part of controversial debate on the issue of Yemen through meaningless discussions at street level. He said that how a government can claim to have a foreign policy which does not have any foreign minister in the first place? He said that the greatest tragedy of Pakistan is that a leadership with a suspect mandate is imposed on the country at a time of grave crises. He said that the political gimmicks displayed by the ministers in Parliament have exposed their seriousness to the nation and Pakistan is losing its friends very fast. He said that the day these rulers leave power would be recorded as the first day of the nation’s march towards betterment.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri further said that whether it is war against terrorism or conducting a meaningful dialogue between the brotherly Islamic countries, the rulers have been found to be unequal to the challenge without having the competence to deal with the issues, which has had adverse impacts on the nation’s morale. He asked when the Prime Minister, in a statement, boasted on the issue of Yemen, did he not have the support of Parliament with him then? He said that the whole nation is facing the consequence of boastful statement. He said what can be a greater display of incompetence of the ruling elite that they failed to determine right direction in reconciling two Islamic countries? He said that they created problems for the Pakistanis living in Yemen through their indiscreet statements and they are doing the same for millions of Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia.
