The 57th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the ambassador of global peace and promoter of inter-faith harmony, has been celebrated around the world with great love and zeal. These celebrations will continue as per schedule spanning over weeks. The main birthday ceremony was held at the Central Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Qur'an International (MQI) on 19th February. The central leadership of the MQI sacrificed 57 goats to thank Allah Almighty and rejoice the occasion. Besides, they flew 57 pigeons. Nazim-e-Aala Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Naib Nazim-e-Aala Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz and many other leaders of Tehreek and a large number of workers were also present on the occasion. Sahibzada Hussain Muhy-ud-Din Qadri, a member of supreme council of MQI and the younger son of Shaykh-ul-Islam, was the chief guest in the programmes. He cut a 57 pound cake. Central Ameer-e-Tehreek supplicated Allah Most High and supplicated for Shaykh-ul-Islam's good health and long life. The organizations of MQI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek and all other forums arranged birthday programmes, thanks-giving ceremonies and paid homage to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. They cut cakes, distributed sweets and offered supererogatory prayers. In the programmes the speakers threw light on various aspects of their leader's personality and vowed to hold fast to the sacred Prophetic Mission tenaciously and act upon the valuable teachings of Shaykh-ul-Islam.     On 19th February the workers of the Tehreek sent millions of SMSs and emails to each other and exchanged greetings. In order to mark the birthday of their beloved leader, they - at home and abroad - presented each other bunches of flowers and birthday cards. The workers of Minhaj-ul-Qur'an Youth League distributed meals among the patients in hospitals at Lahore.
