Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri never used ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’ in interview: Spokesperson
Responding to a news item regarding ‘Bharat Mata ki Jay’ published in a section of Pakistani press, a spokesperson of PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has stated categorically that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri neither used this word in his interview nor mentioned the name of Asad Owaisi. He said that a TV anchor asked a question that there is a debate ‘whether conferring the status of a mother on the homeland is against Islam’. In its response, Dr Qadri said that conferring a status of a mother on the motherland, loving one’s motherland, and even sacrificing one’s life for it is not against the teachings of Islam at all. He said that love for one’s country is in accordance with the Islamic teachings and he who considers it against Islam should study Islam, Hadith and history.
