Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri postpones APC after Lahore tragedy
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has postponed the holding of APC on the Model Town tragedy in view of the heart-rending Gulshan-e-Iqbal blasts that struck Lahore on March 27. He said that we stand in solidarity with the bereaved families in this hour of grief and sorrow. He said that terrorists attacked humanity yet again and the rulers failed to protect the life of people. He said that all public places including Mosques, parks and markets are not safe from reach of terrorists anymore.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri criticized the priorities of the Punjab government, saying that instead of taking steps to secure life and property of the people, the rulers’ attention remains on so-called development projects and their leases. He announced three days of mourning and instructed the workers to show their complete solidarity with the affected families. He also directed the PAT Youth Wing and MSM workers to visit hospitals and donate blood for the injured. He expressed this gratitude to the political leaderships who assured of their participation in the APC, saying that new date will be announced in consultation with the political parties.
