MQI Sialkot chapter arranged a "Paygham-e-Amn Conference" in connection with the 70th birthday celebrations of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri was the guest of honour on the occasion.
In his keynote address, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri recounted the services and contributions of Shaykh-ul-Islam for the establishment of peace and elimination of terrorism and extremism. He said that no other leader has tried to address the root causes of terrorism except Dr Qadri who launched a sustained struggle aimed at winning hearts and minds through the correct interpretation of the teachings of the Holy Quran on the platform of MQI. He said that Dr Qadri held hundreds of peace seminars and workshops to educate the youth across the world. He said that he foiled the attempts to lump Islam with terrorism and told the world that Islam is a religion of peace and harmony. He said that the intellectual struggle of Dr Qadri against terrorism and extremism has been fruitful and has gone a long way in improving the image of Pakistan in the world.
Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Al-Madani Al-Qadri, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam, Allama Mir Asif Akbar, Chaudhry Irfan Yousaf, local leaders, and a large number of workers attended the conference.
