Minhaj-ul-Quran International, an international organization working to promote peace, tolerance, interfaith harmony and education, tackle extremism and terrorism, engage with young Muslims for religious moderation, promote women’s rights, development and empowerment, and provide social welfare and promotion of human rights in more than 100 countries around the world. It’s founding leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri is a well-known and renowned religious scholar throughout the world.
Minhaj ul Quran Australia has realized the need to address the social and contemporary challenges faced by Muslim youth living in Australia and hosting a Youth Conference to address these issues.
Keynote Speaker:
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, is the President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and is also the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Governors of Minhaj University Lahore (MUL). He is also affiliated with the University of Melbourne Australia as Senior Fellow for many years and is also an author of thirty books, writer of over fifty research articles and a reputed international speaker. In December 2019, Dr Hussain was honored with Global Islamic Finance Award (GIFA Award 2019) in recognition of his meritorious research work in the field of Islamic economics and finance.
Fabulous Guest Speakers:
Dr. Jan Ali, is a religious sociologist specialising in Islam. He holds an appointment as a Senior Lecturer in Islam and Modernity in the School of Humanities and Communication Arts at the Western Sydney University. His main sociological focus is the study of existential Islam. Jan has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in international journals and book chapters. He has written three books as well.
Ayesha Bux, is the founder of SalamFest. Ayesha is on the board of JCMA(Jewish, Christian, Muslim Association) and the chair of the Women’s committee. Ayesha has served on the board of SAARC Chamber Women Entrepreneurs Council and as the Honorary Investment Consul for Pakistan in Melbourne. Ayesha has a desire to share and celebrate Muslim contributions in arts, culture and cuisine with the broader Australian community.
Mobinah Ahmad, is the managing editor of Australasian Muslim Times (AMUST) which highlights positive news and brings to light issues within multicultural communities. She is also an executive officer of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry NSW and works with the Australian Human Rights Commission. She is mentor of many Muslim women and youth.
