Secretary General of Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan Dr Allama Mir Asif Akbar has said that conveying correct, credible and authentic religious information to the hundreds of millions of the youth using the internet. He said that the launch of the audio books project is a welcome initiative of MQI, which will help save the youth from the intellectual offensive on the social media platforms. He said that promoting peace, dialogue and harmony in the society is a worthy goal, for which the religious scholars would have to come forward and play their role. He said the students need to be given training in the correct use of digital media.
Dr Mir Asif Akbar said that Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan has the capacity and human resource to impart training in the positive use of digital media. He said that the power of the information age is eclipsed by the methodical use of fake news and disinformation. He said the purveyors of fake news are out spreading their concocted and misleading agendas with a view to misleading the youth. He said that the audio book project launched on the direction of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri will fight the fake news and convey correct information and interpretation of Islam to the youth.
He said that an audio book of 1100 prophetic traditions has recently been made available by the name of Minhaj As-Savvi, which will go a long way in strengthening the faith of the believers. He asked the students and youth to acquire the tools of sifting fact from fiction and access only credible sources of information such as the books and speeches of Shaykh-ul-Islam.
