Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), also known as Mawlid al-Nabi, is an Islamic celebration observed by many Muslims annually to commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This day is celebrated in the Islamic month Rabi' al-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar. Although gatherings and recitations in honor of the Prophet (PBUH) continue all year round, the festival of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is observed especially with great religious devotion and reverence during the period of Rabi' al-Awwal.

On this occasion, Sunday 15th. september 2024 Minhaj-ul-Quran International Denmark organized a grand Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) festival in Shiny Star Hall. The event was attended by over 1200 people, including prominent members of the local community and numerous followers of the Prophet (PBUH).

The first part of the program presented children from Minhaj-ul-Quran, who individually and in groups recited various songs of praise (naats) for the Prophet (PBUH). With the children's interests in mind, a special question and answer segment was also held for them, with over 50 children participating. During this segment, questions were asked about the life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and prizes were distributed among the children, which was greatly appreciated by the participants.

The official program started with a recitation of the Holy Qur'an by Qari Wilayat Khan. Renowned naat reciter Shahbaz Hassan Qadri, who had specially arrived from the UK, presented solo recitations in the honour of the Prophet (PBUH) while Minhaj-ul-Munshideen performed as a group and received great praise from the audience.

Special guest of the event included Bilal Uppal president Minhaj European Council and honourable member Sheikh Ashfaq sb. The stage was ably managed by Tayyaba Kausar and Saif Shahbaz, who hosted the event.

Representative of Youth, Muhammad Zoraiz Khushdil, delivered a short and comprehensive message in the local Danish language and beautifully explained the significance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and the life of the Prophet (PBUH).

In his keynote address, Allama Dr. Muhammad Idrees Al-Azhari reminded the audience that the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is a time for reflection on the life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) which serves as the best example for humanity. The message of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) is a message of love, brotherhood, peace and service to mankind. This day encourages us to remember the teachings and life of the Prophet (PBUH) and to practice them in our lives. His life offers guidance to all aspects of life, and Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) teaches us to follow his example, refine our character, treat others with kindness and promote justice and fraternity in the world.

Qaisar Najeeb, Chairman Minhaj-ul-Quran International Denmark thanked all the attendees for their presence. He also introduced his team and praised them for their hard work which contributed to the successful organization of this great festival. He said to the young people to embark on a journey of self-discovery, self-confidence and strive to remove all forms of negativity from society as they work to create an exemplary society based on peace, tolerance, generosity and love.

As in previous years, the program ended with handing out certificates to those who had recited the most Durood (praises of the Prophet (PBUH)) in the previous year. The spiritual and lively event concluded with the cutting of a cake in honour of the Prophet (PBUH), accompanied by recitation of Durood and Salaam, and prayers were offered for the prosperity and happiness of the Muslim community. Finally, the wonderful cakes were cut in the Honor of the Birthday with party and colors.
