Convocation 2025: Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri Graces Minhaj School of Islamic Sciences Denmark’s Grand Ceremon

Copenhagen, Denmark – The Minhaj School of Islamic Sciences Denmark hosted its Convocation 2025 at the Golden Palace, with Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, Chairman Supreme Council, Minhaj-ul-Quran International, as the chief guest. The event gathered 700 attendees, including 325 students who were awarded for their academic achievements. It was a celebration of education, discipline, and moral development, emphasizing the deep connection between knowledge (Ilm) and the dedication required to attain it.

The convocation recognized students from a range of academic programs, including Darse Nizami (Sanviatul Aama, Aaliya, Aalamiyah), Tafseer-ul-Quran, Tahfeez-ul-Quran, Urdu and Islamic Studies, Naazira classes, and the newly launched The Irfan Academy. With a dedicated faculty of 36 teachers, the school continues its mission of nurturing scholars and future leaders.

The event was attended by prominent scholars, diplomats, and community figures, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Abdel Daim Ali Al-Jundi, Secretary General of the Islamic Research Institute at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and former Dean of the Faculty of Dawah at Al-Azhar University in Egypt, along with Mohamed Ashraf, a representative from the Embassy of Egypt. Other distinguished guests included Syed Aejaz Haider Bukhari, Allama Muhammad Saeed Ahmed Chishti, Allama Hafiz Aftab Ahmad Ranjha, Dr.. Hafiz Muhammad Idrees Al-Azhari, Principal Minhaj School of Islamic Sciences, Bilal Uppal, President of Minhaj European Council, Hassan Bostan, General Secretary of Minhaj European Council, Qaisar Zubair Najeeb, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Denmark, and Babar Shafi Sheikh, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Sweden. Also in attendance were Dr. Urfan Zahoor Ahmed, Chairman of the House of Representatives of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Denmark,, Hafiz Sajjad Ahmed, Shahnawaz Uppal, Rizwan Chaudhry, Ali Imran and Faisal Najeeb.

Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Idrees Al-Azhari skillfully led the proceedings, ensuring a structured and engaging flow throughout the event.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Qaisar Zubair Najeeb, who emphasized the concept of Ilm-e-Naafi‘ah, or beneficial knowledge. He reminded the audience that knowledge should not only be acquired but must also be used to create a positive impact in society. Prof. Dr. Abdel Daim Al-Jundi then addressed the audience, highlighting the shared vision of Al-Azhar and Minhaj-ul-Quran in spreading spiritual and intellectual enlightenment. He praised the scholarly contributions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, commending their dedication to preserving and promoting Islamic knowledge globally. He emphasized that true scholarship requires both intellectual pursuit and spiritual sincerity, aligning with the core mission of both Al-Azhar and Minhaj-ul-Quran.

Following the Maghrib prayer, Director Minhaj Education Board Denmark, Faisal Najeeb followed with a speech on the essential role of parents in their children's education and moral upbringing, He encouraged parents to take an active role in shaping their children’s moral and intellectual development.

Chairman Supreme Council, Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri delivered the keynote speech, focusing on the significance of commitment in the pursuit of knowledge. He shared inspiring stories of great Islamic scholars, illustrating how their unwavering dedication shaped Islamic history. He recounted the story of Imam Malik, who once said, "Just to learn one Hadith, I would travel day and night," highlighting the persistence required in the quest for knowledge. He also referenced Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, who remained steadfast in his academic journey despite immense challenges.

Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri emphasized that knowledge is not just about accumulation but about personal and societal transformation. He stressed that without humility and discipline, knowledge can lead to arrogance, whereas true scholarship is rooted in respect, integrity, and character. He quoted scholars who believed that learning manners (Adab) was even more important than memorizing vast amounts of information, reminding the audience that Adab is the foundation of learning.

Encouraging students to approach education with sincerity and reverence for their teachers, he shared the story of Baqi Yudlu, a scholar who traveled thousands of kilometers just to study under a great teacher. Despite facing obstacles, he remained committed to his goal, proving that knowledge is granted to those who seek it with dedication and respect.

He concluded by reminding students that education is a privilege that comes with responsibility. He urged them to pursue learning not just for personal achievement but for the betterment of society and to embody the values of honesty, perseverance, and humility in their academic and personal lives.

The event honored students, teachers, and organizers with awards and certificates in recognition of their academic excellence and contributions to Islamic education. A grand raffle was also held, where students, teachers, and parents won free Umrah tickets, celebrating their dedication to faith and learning.

Bilal Uppal and Hafiz Sajjad Ahmed both took to the stage and thanked the participants for their attendance and continued support in shaping the future for our coming generation of leaders and academics.

The Convocation 2025 served as a testament to the commitment of Minhaj ul Quran International to nurturing future scholars and leaders, reinforcing the idea that education is not just about acquiring knowledge but about the values, discipline, and moral responsibility that come with it.
