Growing Inclination of Youth Towards Islam is a Positive Sign: Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Over 1,500 students from various universities across the country are participating in Itikaf at Minhaj-ul-Quran’s Itikaf City, along with more than 5,000 women. More than 50% of the attendees are young individuals.
Addressing the grand Jumu'ah congregation, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, stated that youth are increasingly turning towards Islam at a rapid pace. He emphasized that Islam is not merely about reciting the Kalima, being born into a Muslim family, or having an Islamic name.
Until we integrate the blessed Seerah (life) and teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) into our character and daily routines, we will not fully experience the benefits of Islam’s golden principles. Islam calls for complete submission to the faith, not a partial or selective approach, he explained.
Prof. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further stated that Itikaf is a Sunnah-based act of worship and a unique means of self-purification. Minhaj-ul-Quran’s Itikaf City stands out in many ways, providing collective learning of faith, opportunities for social interaction across different regions and societal groups, and a platform for community service.
Dr. Hussain said that in today’s era of social media and increasing self-centeredness, even close relationships are becoming distant. He said a collective Itikaf helps reduce these social gaps and allows individuals to understand and share each other’s joys and sorrows.
He highlighted that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, through his insightful speeches, shares the essence of his lifelong study and experiences. He not only warns the youth about modern-day tribulations but also provides practical solutions. He stressed that preserving moral and ethical values is one of today’s greatest challenges, and Minhaj-ul-Quran is actively addressing this issue.
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further noted that attendees of Minhaj-ul-Quran’s Itikaf City come from all corners of Pakistan, offering a valuable opportunity to understand regional issues and diverse perspectives. Islam’s concept of brotherhood and unit
