Govt should take the country out of crises: Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the country is passing through critical times. Conspiracies, both internal and external, have been hatched to further weaken it with the result that there is an acute lack of confidence among the rulers and the ruled. Helplessness, despondency and disappointment are writ large on the faces of everyone. The entire nation is a victim to the cultural attack. It appears that we are suffering from collective torment.

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views in his telephonic address to a gathering in Lahore the other day. He said that it was due to our collective mistakes that the country had come to such a pass. It was high time the entire nation repented of its collective sins and demonstrated unity and consensus in the wake of grave dangers to the national security. He said that we got into these circumstances because we compromised on age-old principles and values. Corruption has become an accepted norm in the society. Had our ruling elite eradicated these evils, we would not have been confronted with such a scenario. National educational institutions stand closed and there is mental disorder and chaos everywhere.

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that we needed to bow down before Allah Almighty to seek His forgiveness. The national leadership of every hue and colour should also forget their differences and come out jointly against the crises. "When the leaders learn to prefer national interests to the personal ones, it would be a major breakthrough in changing the destiny of this country", he held. He also urged the present rulers to formulate strategy in consultation with all stakeholders to bring the country out of raging crises the country is caught in at the moment.
