Every Muslim worried over plight of Umma: Dr Raheeq Abbasi
Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that every Muslim is worried over the present-day predicament of the Muslim Umma and its decline in almost all spheres of life. "The present state of affairs the Muslim community is faced with owes itself largely to the lack of honest, pious and competent leadership and mutual discords," he said. Dr Abbasi expressed these views in his interaction with the group of MQI's leaders who received him at the airport upon his return from foreign tour. He said that more sincere efforts were needed to replace Umma's decline with rise and the Muslim community too had fallen victim to mutual rifts, discords and bickering over trivial issues. The lack of internal unity is encouraging the anti-Islam elements to come up with all sorts of allegations against Islam. "It is time everyone rose over and above his personal likes and dislikes and worked for the greater good of the Muslim community. Time could not have more ripe," he concluded. Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, G.M. Malik, Sajid Mahmood Bhatti, Dr Tanvir Azam Sandhu, Aqil Malik, Jawad Hamid and other leaders gave a warm welcome to Dr Abbasi from his tour of Europe.
