Hundreds of young Muslims will attend an anti-terrorism camp aimed at encouraging them away from extremism. The three-day event, called Al-Hidayah 2017, takes place at Keele University in Staffordshire. Organiser Minhaj-ul-Quran UK says it will address misconceptions about Islam used to radicalise young British Muslims.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK, will host a major "anti-terror" training camp, in order to equip more than 500 young British Muslims with the necessary theological tools, in order to counter the narrative of ISIS and similar groups in their respective communities and online.
European al-Hidayah Camp 2017 (4th August - 6th August)
al-Hidayah is a concept established by Minhaj-ul-Quran International in 2006. It is a three day retreat with His Eminence Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The sole purpose of this retreat is to provide spiritual uplift, development and both personal and spiritual growth for the participants, and simultaneously train them in the vision of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. Previous al-Hidayah camps have been arranged in the UK.
The first ever European al-Hidayah Camp, organized by Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International Norway in the first weekend of August, placed extremism and radicalization on the agenda. More than 450 European Muslim Youth across the Europe emerged with the message of peace, reconciliation and dialogue.

The 26th meeting of Minhajians Parliament consisting of over 500 professionals and experts who are graduates of the Minhaj University and rendering services in different walks of life was held with Abul Hassan Al-Azhari in the chair. Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League has started AL-Hidayah project to spread the learning of Quran among the women. In this regard, while addressing the inaugural ceremony held in regional office of Defense, Chief Guest Ms. Fizza Hussain Qadri said that the biggest cause of the increasing extremism is the distance from the Quranic teachings. She added that it was unavoidable need of contemporary era to concentrate on the religious training and education of women to promote the Islamic values and traditions and to establish peaceful society.

He said that it was important to grasp Arabic language to understand the complete meaning of Almighty’s book and Minhaj-ul-Quran had organized 10-day training camp on permanent basis to fulfill this important national, religious and human obligation.

Al-Hidayah Regional (Scotland)
Minhaj-ul-Quran International (UK)’s Al-Hidayah project team arranged Al-Hidayah 2016 with a relevant and much needed focus on developing future leadership. This year’s event was the first three-day event since Al-Hidayah 2010, and the objectives of the event were geared towards nurturing and inspiring future leaders from amongst the youth. Keele University in North Staffordshire, England was chosen as the venue for the event, set in 600 acres of scenic greenery and with all accommodation, facilities and events on campus, it provided the ideal environment for three days of learning and development.
