MQI expresses its concern over release of terrorists for lack of sufficient evidence

Nazim-e-Ala of Minhaj-ul-Quran International Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi has said that people of Pakistan are concerned about the release of terrorists due to lack of sufficient evidence which should be scrutinized by the courts of law. He appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto action on this important and sensitive matter. He said that the release of people involved in the incidents of terrorism is tantamount to encouraging them. These people who play havoc with the lives of innocent people and destroy peace and harmony deserve no mercy and concession. It is the duty of law enforcement agencies to not only arrest the terrorists but also gather credible and sufficient evidence for their conviction. The Chief Justice is requested to initiate proceedings against those who do not firm up the cases and present weak evidence in the courts. He said that terrorists cannot be allowed to go amok without getting punished for want of evidence. He deplored that the news of the release of terrorists has damaged the reputation of Pakistan in the international community and the superior judiciary should play its role to remedy the plague.
