Punjab Government distracting attention from Data Darbar attack: MQI
Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the Punjab Government started wrangling with the media to distract attention from the suicide attack on the Data Darbar. He said that emergence of consensus across religious and political opinion against the incompetence of the Punjab government to protect shrines and lives of people had perturbed the rulers of Punjab. There was a grave concern that the government of Punjab was not ready to crack down on the terrorist elements in the Southern Punjab and the suicide attack on the revered shrine of the Data Darbar only showed the prowess of the terrorists who had built up sanctuaries under the very nose of the government. He said that popular outrage expressed against the attack had unnerved the rulers. Instead of adopting the right course, they played this foul game.
Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi expressed these views while talking to a delegation of lawyers in Model Town. He said that the Punjab government played a drama of anti-media resolution to deflect attention from the Data Darbar so that focus of national media might change from the burning issue of Data Darbar attack to another one.
Dr Abbasi asked the media to see through the game plan of the PML-N leadership and not to relent on the collective demand of holding the culprits of the Data Darbar Attack accountable.
