PAT holds a national seminar on the Quiad’s birth anniversary
A prestigious national seminar on the topic of ‘Whither the Quaid’s Pakistan’ was held under the banner of Pakistan Awami Tehreek on the occasion of the 134th birth anniversary of the Quaid-e-Azam, which was attended by a large number of political, social and religious leaders from across mainstream opinion. Addressing the seminar, PAT’s Secretary General, Anwar Akhtar Advocate, said that there is a need of introducing true democracy instead of dictatorship to realize the dream of the Quaid-e-Azam. The world is out on a brain-hunting mission in the name of immigration to attract the talented youth of Pakistan. He said that end to dictatorship, restoration of independent judiciary and declaration of the so-called NRO are gifts to the nation for which lawyers’ community, media and civil society waged historic struggle. He regretted the fact that we as a nation are content with celebrations of our founding fathers but have put their teachings at the backburner.
Addressing the audience, GM Malik, naib Nazim-e-Ala of MQI, said that there is a need of reconstructive mindset and attitude to bring the country out of the raging crises in which it is trapped today. He listed the poverty and feudalism as the two major problems responsible for the country’s underdevelopment. He said that Iqbal’s concept of ego should be instilled in the youth to make them work hard for the attainment to the Quaid’s Pakistan. He said that protection of the rights of the minorities in an Islamic state is in line with the Islamic teachings and it is not secularism at all.
Ahmad Nawaz Anjum, Amir-e-Tehreek of Punjab, said in his speech that only Iqbal and the Quaid’s ideology can put country back on the path of progress and prosperity. He said that the 25th of December reminds us of the extreme dedication, commitment and selflessness of the great Quaid and we should equip ourselves with the same to translate the Quaid’s dream of Pakistan into reality.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary General of PAT Punjab said that we should take a leaf from the book of the great Quaid and dedicate ourselves to realization of his dream for Pakistan. He said that it is a sacred trust and we must safeguard Pakistan at every cost.
Chaudhry Afzal Gujjar, PAT president of Lahore region, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Qazi Faiz-ul-Islam and Jawad Hamid also spoke on the occasion. The seminar concluded on prayer for peace, prosperity and progress of Pakistan.
