Politics is all about befooling people: Pakistan Awami Tehreek
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, has regretted that the political parties have given up the politics of manifesto, and befooling people has become the second name of politics. He said that the practice of resigning from public offices and then accepting them represents the real picture of our political values in vogue. There is a need to uproot the political system, which has given birth to present parliament so that people’s real representatives could be voted into power. He said that political maneuvering and fight for vested interests is at the peak at the moment with little space for people’s welfare and rights. None seems concerned for the country, which is the special preserve of Pakistani politics only.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, expressed these views while talking to a delegation of Pakistan Awmai Tehreek Layyah.
He said that those who dub the present wheeling and dealing as an issue of public importance have nothing to do with them in reality. He said that the present electoral system of Pakistan gives a carte blanche to a few families to hijack the future of this great nation. “The people need to rise up and change the system, otherwise their destiny cannot change even in 100 years under the present system,” he concluded.
