Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri to announce national agenda on arrival: PAT
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), has said that in view of challenges facing the country, the slogan of ‘let us save state, not politics’ can unify the entire nation on a single point agenda. He said that Chairman PAT Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri would announce national agenda before hundreds of thousands of people at Minar-e-Pakistan on the 23rd of December. He said that the hundreds of thousands of people would pledge to join the struggle for saving Pakistan under the leadership of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on that day.
PAT President expressed these views while talking to a PAT delegation of Punjab chapter which called on him at the party’s central secretariat in Model Town today. The delegation was led by PAT Punjab Secretary General M.H. Shaheen.
Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that the current electoral system would give birth to a hung parliament and the political parties would resort to every kind of wheeling and dealing to form governments. He said that political considerations and party interests would take precedence over the national interests with the result that the country would continue to lurch from one crisis to another.
He said that efforts were afoot to save the current system as both were two sides of the same coin, adding that downing of the system would be tantamount to surrender of political and economic power by the ruling elite, which they did not want to happen.
PAT President said that it was regrettable that those riding on the slogan of change were not seeking any kind of reform in the system. He said that PAT’s public awareness campaign would be laying down solid foundation for comprehensive and peaceful change in the country.
