Energy crisis a major challenge for government: Dr Raheeq Abbasi
Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, has said that energy crisis facing people of Pakistan, who were already hit hard by price hike, unemployment, lawlessness and terrorism, was the worst challenge before the government. If not tackled on urgent basis, it had the potential of hampering economic development and bringing in irreparable damage to the country. He said the negative effects of energy shortage were impacting the domestic industry adversely with huge job losses of the poor people. Dr Raheeq Abbasi said drying of water in the Chanab River would further render our volatile agriculture weak. He urged the government to formulate effective strategy to end load shedding and bring the prices of necessary items under control.
