Dr Raheeq Abbasi to participate in “Pukar Room” of Geo TV

Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, will participate in the special programme of Geo TV “Pukar Room” at 11 pm on May 15, 2009. The programme aims at encouraging people to donate for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Malakand Division by highlighting their problems and plight. Dr Abbasi is likely to throw light on the contributions being made by Minhaj Welfare Foundation for the relief and rehabilitation of the Malakand affectees.

It should be remembered that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has issued special instructions to provide every possible help and relief to our brethren of Malakand Division displaced by ongoing military action against the militants. It is in this context that the first caravan of trucks carrying relief goods of worth Rs. 3 million was dispatched to Mardan by Minhaj Welfare Foundation yesterday. Eatable stuff, blankets, shoes, beds, clothes, medicines and tents are part of these relief goods.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation has been serving humanity, day in and day out, without any discrimination of religion, colour and race. Be it Tsunami in Indonesia, earthquake in Kashmir, NWFP and Iran, destruction wrought by floods, or rehabilitation of the Malakand affectees, MWF is there to help the suffering humanity in hour of trial and tribulations. Relief goods of Rs. 3 million are being immediately dispatched as a first installment with much more to follow in weeks to come. Relief camps were set up in different parts of Pakistan where hundreds of workers are busy collecting donations and relief goods. The MQI chapters around the world are also working hard to contribute to the maximum in this regard.
