Admission of presence of handlers in Punjab not enough: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has asked the Punjab Chief Minister who confessed to presence of handlers of terrorists in the province to tell as to what he actions he took during his eight years in power and as to why he did not let the Rangers operation be carried out before. He said that the Rangers should have the same powers in Punjab that FC and Sindh Rangers enjoy in Balochistan and Karachi respectively. He said that the rulers who are opposed to extension in the term of military courts are also responsible for failure of the NAP.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri expressed these views while talking to senior members of the PAT Core Committee. He said that after admission about presence of handlers of the terrorists, our view has proven true that the sleeper cells of terrorists are present in Punjab. He said that the terrorists carry out terrorist activities across the country with the help of these cells. He said that it is for this reason that it has been our viewpoint that a merciless operation be conducted in Punjab so that sustainable peace could be established in the country. He said that the command of such an operation should not be in the hands of the Punjab government.
Dr Qadri said that it is due to networks of terrorism existing in the province that Waziristan has been awash with terrorism. He said that the biggest buyers of the illegal weapons are living in Punjab but those responsible for security have kept their eyes shut. He said that it is true that majority of people of Punjab are peace-loving, patriotic and forward looking but some of the groups that have political patronage have held the peace of the province hostage. He said that there are sectarian organizations with flawed ideologies as well as foreign agencies operating to hurt Pakistan. He said that whosoever raises a voice against these enemies of Pakistan, the rulers perpetrate the state terrorism to silence all such criticisms.
The PAT Chairman said that the worst ever act of state terrorism was committed on June 17, 2014 against PAT and MQI workers wherein 100 people were shot in broad day light. He said that he continues to hold on to his view that extremism churning factories are operating in Punjab under the patronage of the ruling party. He said that the party has struck a deal with them. They let them operate freely whereas the extremists extend political support to the ruling party. He said that facts duly complemented with proofs will come to the fore soon.
Dr Qadri said that he is convinced that no operation can be successful as long as the Sharif brothers are in power. He said that they are responsible for failure of the NAP. He questioned the moral authority of those governing the province in the wake of their role in Model Town tragedy.
