First phase of registration for Itikaf city completed
The registration for the 1st phase of the second largest Itikaf gathering after that of the one held at The Two Holy Mosques has completed. Thousands of male and female Mutakifeen (residents of Itikaf City) across all provinces of Pakistan including Gilgit-Baltistan and AJK will participate in the Itikaf city scheduled to be held after 3 days. The caravans from interior Sindh, Karachi, Quetta, AJK and Balochistan would join the spiritual gathering. The preparations for the Itikaf city have entered the last phase and the arrangements for the female Mutakifeen are being expeditiously finalized.
The heads of 60 administrative committees constituted for making the arrangements of Itikaf city have submitted their final reports to MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur. Secretary Itikaf City, Jawad Hamid shared information with the audience while addressing a special meeting with respect to the arrangements for the gathering. The heads of the administrative committees, Rafiq Najam, Saeed Akhtar, Shahzad Rasool, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Zeeshan Baig, Sanaullah Khan, Sajid Mir and others were also present at the occasion. The secretary was also briefed about the ongoing registration being carried out in different cities.
Jawad Ahmad said that the timely completion of registration process would facilitate in ensuring the exemplary arrangements for the thousands of Mutakifeen. He informed the participants that complete data for the total registered Mutakifeen would be received after 2 days. The secretary also inaugurated the control room for ensuring the speedy coordination among the administrative committees.
Jawad Hamid further added that the registration cells for Itikaf city witnessed extraordinary rush, while noting that the Mutakifeen enjoyed the utmost spiritual environment in Itikaf city. He observed that the training programs for Dars-e-Quran and Tasuwwaf designed by Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri were instrumental in bringing about drastic changes in the lives of thousands of people. He announced that the as per the tradition, the city of repentance, tears and sobbing would be established, while noting that in addition to the arrangements for individual and collective Wazaif and Azkar gatherings, special sessions for spiritual and moral training would also be held. He informed the audience that the coordinated system had been finalized for ensuring the uninterrupted provision for Sahar and Iftar.
Jawad Hamid also said that keeping in view the security situation, extraordinary measures were being taken for ensuring the fool proof security. While elaborating on the arrangements, he informed that hundreds of young men from Youth Wing and MSM would ensure the security for the spiritual gathering. The 4-feet large fans would be installed to provide relief from scorching heat. He added that we had requested the LESCO multiple times to declare the Itikaf city load-shedding free area so that the thousands of worshipers would not face the problems. He said that the worshipers would remain busy in worshiping until the Moon sighting for Eid was announced.
Jawad Hamid observed the wear and tear of roads around the Itikaf City were exacerbating the problems for the Mutakifeen and, we had informed the higher officials through written complaint that if the roads leading towards the Itikaf city were not repaired and cleared, it would pose massive problems for the people coming to attend the Itikaf from different areas of the country.
