Prime Minister has assured of justice in Model Town case: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said had the previous rulers not been involved in the Model Town tragedy, Model Town case would have been sorted out a long ago. He asked whether those who sprayed bullets on the faces of Shazia Murtaza and Tanzila Amjad, the daughters of the nation, deserve any concessions. He said that two judges of the apex judiciary have described Model Town carnage as the result of a prior planning. He said that we are very concerned at the masterminds of the tragedy not being summoned. He said that the police cannot rain bullets on 100 people with a clear intent to kill them in broad daylight without any clear direction and command. He said that the level of brutality they committed is enough to conclude that they were acting on the orders of someone from high above. He hoped that the SC will deliver justice to the oppressed and order the summoning of the masterminds of the Model Town tragedy in the anti-terrorism court.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri stated this while talking to the senior lawyers and the party leaders in a consultative meeting here at the central secretariat. He said that every day during the past 4 years has been spent in great pain and anxiety on the lack of justice due to delaying tactics of the past rulers. He said that we did not lose hope and continued the struggle. He said that despite the best efforts by the perpetrators of the tragedy, the Model Town case could not be shelved. He said that our struggle continues determinedly whereas our opponents have been humiliated.
The PAT Chairman revealed that the previous rulers used stick and carrot method. They tried their best to buy the witnesses and when they failed to achieve their nefarious design, they did not hesitate from harassing them. He said that the family members of the martyrs and the witnesses refused to be won over through stick or carrot. They stood their ground firmly. He said that it is a novel chapter of dignity that the poor but self-respecting workers rejected the lucrative offers of the wealthy people and stood up to the oppressors. He said that the day is not far when the justice will be done. He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured of all-out support for provision of justice and promised removal of all hurdles in the way.
