Children will continue to be killed in the presence of current system: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the current system kills the peaceful and law-abiding citizens and protects the oppressors and the oppressed. He said that as long as this rotten and obsolete system will stay intact, our children will continue to die. He said that after the heart-wrenching incident of rape and murder of Zainab Amin of Kasur, another incident of rape and killing of innocent girl Farishta Mohamand is disgusting and strongly condemnable. He expressed his heartfelt condolences with the family of late Farishta and demand of the government authorities to mete out an exemplary punishment to the perpetrators and their facilitators.
In a statement, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the whole country was deeply hurt on the incident of Zainab Amin and it was hoped that our children will be safe now and the law-enforcement agencies will wake up from their slumber, stating that it was just an illusion as the children continue to be raped and murdered after the Kasur tragedy. He said that an incident that hogs the media limelight is condemned by all and sundry but there are dozens of similar incidents that go unreported and become part of our guilty past.
Dr Qadri said that behind every deplorable incident is the insensitivity and negligence of the police. He said that it appears that the job of the police is not to provide protection to the people but to complete the political agenda of their political masters. He said that the police is meant for the protection of the elite, not for the vulnerable sections of society. He said that no change would come about through the suspension of a few police officials, stating that the entire department needs to be restructured.
