Islam is a guarantor of human rights: Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Chairman Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that Islam is a religion that protects human rights and strongly forbids humiliation and ridicule of others. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) has given us practical and golden teachings about every aspect of life, which guarantee balance and harmony in how we live.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that every individual in an Islamic society is deserving of freedom and respect irrespective of the cast, creed and color he may belong to. He said that Islam has negated every type of division whether it is on the basis of sex, race or class. Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri expressed these views while addressing a seminar on the topic of “Islam: An Advocate of Human Rights” held in the civil secretariat.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Islam has not just provided rights based on equality in the worldly affairs but has also determined the performance of good deeds as the basis of reward on the Day of Judgment. He said that Islam teaches its followers to be moderate in their life. He said that Islam has prevented such a balanced concept of human rights and duties for the establishment of harmonious and peaceful society.
Chairman Supreme Council said that the charter of human rights given by the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) during his Last Sermon is based on the eternal teachings of Islam. He said that the blessed life of the beloved Prophet (please be upon him) is characterized by the teachings of respect for humanity and love for human beings.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that the charter of rights given by him (peace be upon him) is also the first document and manifesto of human history that deals with the rights of all human beings as citizens of an Islamic State.
