Kindness, tolerance & respect core principles of Sufis’ teachings: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, the Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, in his statement on the occasion of the 782nd Urs of the great Sufi saint Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar (RA), said that the light of Islam spread across the Indian subcontinent through the benevolent conduct of the Sufis. He said Hazrat Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shakar (RA) highlighted the teachings of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) throughout his life.
Those who mention Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) have their names eternally honored by Allah. The pious promoted brotherhood and unity, upholding the flag of Islam. Words like hatred, excommunication, jealousy, and malice do not exist in the lexicon of the Sufi saints, he said.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur stated that the humanity-loving character of the Sufi saints spread the light of Islam to the streets and alleys of the subcontinent, leading millions to embrace the faith. He said that Sufism teaches us patience and tolerance.
“The Sufi approach is one of divine love and humanity. Their love for humanity springs from their divine love. The Sufi saints seek divine pleasure through their service to humanity,” he added.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur further said that the Sufi saints and friends of Allah delivered a message of peace and security for human society through their actions and words. They spread the message of love instead of hatred. The humanity-loving nature of the Sufi saints was a cause for the spread and popularity of Islam. He said that treating the creation of Allah with kindness and equality, without any discrimination, is the essence of Islam. The Sufi saints taught the lessons of love, brotherhood, tolerance, and ethics.
