MWF to continue ‘Qurbani campaign’ for three days of Eid

The overriding objective behind the establishment of Minhaj Welfare Foundation is to foster the spirit of empathy among the humanity without any discrimination of caste, creed, colour and race. The Foundation has been working for the welfare of humanity and mitigating the sufferings of the downtrodden and less privileged sections of society. The Islamic concept of welfare state does not allow even a single animal to go thirsty and hungry within its boundaries. The best person in the eyes of Allah is the one who works for the welfare of the suffering humanity by sharing their grief and distributing happiness among them. It explains why the rights of people have been preferred to the rights of God in Islam.

As per the practice of yester years, Minhaj Welfare Foundation has arranged for collective sacrifice throughout the country in general and in Township in particular where over 100 animals including goats, and cows, etc. would be slaughtered on the blessed day of Eid-ul-Adha.

These views were expressed by Syed Amjad Shah, Director of MWF, while talking to the central committee mandated to complete preparations at the central slaughter house yesterday. Ahmad Moeen, Khurram Shahzad and Muhammad Owais were also present on the occasion. He said that the income from the sale of skins of animals on this Eid-ul-Azha would be spent on the completion of ongoing welfare projects for education and upbringing of orphan children.

Amjad Ali Shah said that the workers of Minhaj-ul-Quran International would collect skins of slaughtered animals throughout the country for the completion of ongoing welfare projects. He said that a target of 0.2 million herds was fixed for this year and the campaign would continue during all the three days of Eid. He said that the Foundation would set up 300 camps for skin collection only in Lahore.

MWF Director said that ‘Aghosh’, a multipurpose building for the 500 children orphaned by the earthquake of 2005, had been completed while the construction of ‘Bait-uz-Zahra’, a project for orphan and poor girls, was in the final stage. He said that the Foundation would distribute meat of the slaughtered animals among the poorest of the poor like the practice of the previous years.

Amjad Ali Shah said that MWF was working on a number of welfare projects such as arrangement for collective marriages, provision of water pumps, educational scholarships, medical aid, rehabilitation of people hit by natural disasters, emergencies, provision of blood and ambulance services, help through Bait-ul-Maal, Jihad against narcotics, protection of rights of the minorities, and promotion of tolerance for establishment of peace under the leadership of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
