30th annual International Milad Conference of MQI to be held at Minar-e-Pakistan
MQI’s 30th annual and the biggest International Milad Conference of the world will be held during the intervening night between 11th and 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal at the lush green lawns of historic Minar-e-Pakistan on January 13, 2014. The preparations for this Conference have reached their final stage. The hundreds of thousands of people from Lahore and adjoining areas would attend the Conference to show their utmost reverence and extreme love for the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). The attendance of the people in such a large number is manifestation of the fact that nothing is dearer for them than love of the beloved prophet (PBUH).
The chief highlight of the 30th International Milad Conference is the keynote address of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri that he would deliver to hundreds of thousands of people on that blessed night. The International Milad Conference is a flagship event which is held under the banner of MQI every year. The message given from the platform of MQI is that Islam is a religion of peace, love and harmony. MQI is working throughout the world to promote love of the Holy prophet (PBUH) and its founding leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is known as ambassador of peace due to his services for promotion of peace, interfaith dialogue and harmony.
Big hoardings and banners have begun to be put up across the provincial capital. More than 70 administrative committees have been set up to make arrangements for the Conference.
Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek and the head of central administrative committee, expressed these views while addressing the heads of these administrative committees in a meeting held at the central secretariat in Lahore yesterday. Jawad Hamid, Mian Zahid Javed, GM Malik, Razia Naveed, Ch Riaz, Imran Shaukat, Hafiz Waqar, Allama Asif Akbar Mir, Mian Iftikhar, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Abdul Hafeez Ch and others were present at the occasion.
Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz said that hundreds of thousands of people including men and women would attend the International Conference despite cold and harsh weather, adding that separate seating arrangements will be made for the women. He said that noted religious scholars, political figures, human rights activists, Mashaykh, and Naat Khawan will attend the Conference. He said that Durood recited at the Gosh-a-Durood of MQI during the entire year would be offered in the honour of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He said that huge LED screens would be installed in the grounds of the Minar-e-Pakistan so that people sitting away from the main venue could also see the proceedings of the Conference.
Sheikh Zahid said that there would be an open invitation for Milad feast from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. like it has been the case during the past years. He said that five thousand youths of Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League and Mustafavi Students Movement would perform the security duties in and outside the main venue. He said that no stone would be left unturned to decorate the Minar-e-Pakistan as per demand of the occasion.
Zahid Fayyaz asked the people to decorate their homes and streets during the sacred occasion, adding that Milad gatherings should be held and cakes should be cut. He said that one of the major objectives of International Milad Conference is to create greater awareness about reverence and respect for the person of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), adding that it is through one’s strong bond with the person of the revered Prophet (PBUH) that the faithful get the motivation to understand his teachings and act upon them. He said that the best way to get rid of increasing lawlessness, anxiety and tension in society is to arrange more and more Milad gatherings.
