A bridegroom abandons marriage procession to join PAT demonstration

A bridegroom who was on his way to the house of the bride to contract a marriage decided to become part of PAT demonstration in Lahore. Clad in the traditional marriage attire, he joined the hundreds of thousands of people along with the members of his marriage party. According to TV reports, the bridegroom, Muhammad Ayub, said that responding to call of his leader was more important than tying the knot. He said that he would not marry unless the revolution came under the leadership of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that he could get bride later on but would not be able to get the leader. The demonstrators expressed their extreme joy when Muhammad Ayub joined them wearing traditional dress. They showered rose petals and currency notes on him besides dancing to the tune of drumbeat.
