Meeting your brother with a smile is charity and worship: Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Protecting others from harm and sharing their pain defines kindness
Concealing one’s problems and sacrifices while being content with Allah’s will is
"Futuwwah"
The life of Hazrat Ali (RA) is a perfect example of bravery, truthfulness, and generosity:
Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, addressed the Friday congregation at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam in Model Town, Lahore. In his speech, he stated that protecting others from harm and sharing their pain is referred to as kindness. Sharing others' sorrows is a noble human trait that promotes love and compassion in society. Meeting your brother with a smile is both charity and worship.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that in today's materialistic era, close relationships are drifting apart. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), with His exemplary character, united broken hearts and introduced the concept of a cohesive community. He explained that “Futuwwah” represents the embodiment of high moral values, human compassion, and service to humanity. It encourages individuals to practice kindness, selflessness, and sacrifice, providing comfort and ease to others while bearing difficulties with patience.
The Chairman Supreme Council further elaborated that a “Fata” is a noble-hearted individual who does not reveal their struggles or sacrifices but remains content with Allah’s will. The essence of Futuwwah is to inspire a character that benefits others. Quoting Hazrat Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (AS), he mentioned that the pure lives of the Ahlul Bayt epitomize Futuwwah, as they supported others despite their own needs and embodied patience and gratitude.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri emphasized that the Quran and Sunnah strongly advocate adopting this behavior. The blessed life of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reflects the true principles of Futuwwah, with its core values of altruism, generosity, and service to humanity. The foundation of Futuwwah lies in Quranic verses that call for goodness, charity, and prioritizing others over oneself, he said.
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that according to Sufi scholars, Futuwwah is a spiritual principle that fosters humility, sincerity, and sacrifice. He described Hazrat Ali (RA) as the Imam of Futuwwah and his life as a perfect example of bravery, truthfulness, and generosity.
Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, led special prayers for the Muslim Ummah and the nation of Pakistan. Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Professor Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri also met central leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran, staff members of the central secretariat, residents of the spiritual retreat, and leaders and participants from both within and outside the country who attended the Friday congregation.
