Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League (Dallas, USA) organized their annual Mawlid event on Sunday, March 23, 2014 to celebrate the birth of the best of all creations, Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him), in the beautiful Uways al-Qarani auditorium of Jame’ Hasan al-Basri & Minhaj-ul-Quran Community Center in Carrollton, Texas, USA.
This was the 1st Annual Mawlid-un-Nabi program organized by the newly formed Minhaj Women League body under the guidance of Sister Riffat Qazi, the President of MWL Dallas. The whole program was meticulously planned and well executed by MWL executive members and multiple volunteers who worked day and night to make this event successful. The two sisters presenting the program were the General Secretary of MWL, Sister Aisha Hussain and Sister Rehana Ahmad. Sister Aisha first welcomed the audience for leaving their houses and all their worldly affairs to gather in the remembrance of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) and to show their love for and attachment to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). From the beginning to the end of the event, both sisters kept the audience in a spiritual atmosphere by their heart-touching and inspiring way of expression.
The program commenced with recitation of the Holy Quran by Sister Sadia Shakeel which was followed by a beautiful Hamd recited by Sister Beenish Ikram. Then a series of praises on the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) was recited by Sisters, including Feha Habibi, Sadia Ahmad, Syeda Gilani, Saba Choudhery and Shazia Amer. These Nasheeds invested beauty and a touch of spirituality in the atmosphere. A brief introduction of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and its accomplishments was presented by a member of the Supreme Council of MQI, Sister Dr. Syeda Mayanaz. The keynote speaker of the event was our scholar, a graduate of Sharia College of Minhaj-ul-Quran , Sister Faiza Qadri, who presented with her eloquent style and touched several aspects of the love of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) through multiple references from the Qur’an and ahadith of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) which enlightened people’s hearts. In regard to mission, she further elaborated that introducing the Ummah with the love of the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) is the motive of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. She spoke about his eminence, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and his ongoing dedication to spreading Islam and the love of the Holy Prophet (Peace and blessings be upon him).
She also spoke about the mannerisms of attaining knowledge and the importance of a spiritual mentor in the pursuit of knowledge. During her speech, takbir and risalah were exclaimed along with praises upon the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him). Sister Faiza Qadri also invited the audience to join Minhaj-ul-Quran International and conveyed the message of peace, love and interfaith harmony espoused by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. The sisters listened to the speech with rapt attention and were truly moved by the influential speech. Towards the conclusion of the program, Sister Anjum Naseem, an Associate Director of Minhaj Social Media and Communication, gave a short but heart touching talk with the reference of a hadith from Minhaj-al-Sawi on the love of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him). Greetings and salutations were recited upon the beloved Prophet (blessings and peace upon him) by several sisters to mark the end of this beautiful gathering.
Food was served by the Women’s League at the conclusion of program and participants were given a free CD in Urdu and English along with leaflets on different topics. There were also books and accessories stalls consisting of the Minhaj-al-Sawi and Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW) and many other books of Shaykh-ul-Islam on sale at a reduced price on this very joyous occasion. The sisters were very pleased and gave good feedbacks on what they liked about the event.
