Cento, South Italy: Chairman Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Prof. Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri, attended the inauguration ceremony of the Minhaj-ul-Quran Islamic Centre Cento and addressed the gathering.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri stated that mosques and Islamic centres are not merely places of worship; rather, they serve as educational, spiritual, and character-building hubs for the entire community, where the faith, morals, and future of younger generations are nurtured and safeguarded. He noted that the new centre will provide a range of facilities, including a mosque, library, community hall, and legal consultation centre, all of which will benefit the wider community.

Highlighting the social and educational challenges of the modern era, he observed that the fast-paced nature of contemporary life has transformed many homes from centres of upbringing into places of rest and routine. He explained that parental commitments and the increasing use of digital technologies have significantly impacted the development of children’s personalities. Today’s youth spend more time with mobile phones, social media, and artificial intelligence (AI), resulting in a decline in moral and social values.

While acknowledging the importance of modern technology, Dr. Hassan Mohiuddin Qadri emphasized that there is no substitute for the love and compassion of parents, the guidance of teachers, and the company of elders. He urged parents to connect their children with mosques, Islamic centres, and positive educational environments so that they may receive proper guidance and opportunities for character development.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Haji Ghulam Rasool, President of Minhaj-ul-Quran Cento; Master Nazir, Muhammad Tahir, Hafiz Khalil, office-bearers of Minhaj-ul-Quran Zones 3 and 4, as well as workers, youth, children, and a large number of members of the Cento community.
