PAT sends legal notice to anchorperson Arshad Sharif on baseless allegation
Syed Ali Zafar Advocate, counsel of PAT Chief Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, has formally sent a legal notice to TV anchor Arshad Sharif on his accusation in a TV Talk Show in which he made a baseless allegation that PAT ended sit-in after accepting money from the government. The notice has demanded of Arshad Sharif to express public apology on TV within 15 days following the receipt of the notice, otherwise legal proceedings for defamation will be initiated against him under the law and he would have to pay Rs. 2 billion in damages. It is pertinent to mention here that Arshad Sharif had accused in a TV Programme ‘Off the Record’ on October 23, 2014 that PAT ended sit-in after receiving money from the government through Federal Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique.
