UK: Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) commemorated

On 3rd November 2014, Jamia Masjid Minhaj-ul-Quran, Nelson, held a religious gathering to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam-e-Hussain (RA) in the battle of Karbalah. The gathering was beautifully conducted by Sister Tahira Basharat.

The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, which was done by Haleema. A Hamd was also recited on the occasion. Aleena and Zaynab recited the “99 names of Allah”. This was followed by praises on the Holy Prophet, which was done by Nida Ajaz and Tooba Bilal then recited a beautiful Manqabat called, “Syed nay Karbalah may”. This was followed by the first speech of the event which was delivered by Zulaikha Mehmood and Lybah Ahmed. Iqra Noor and Amelia also recited a Naat called “Ya Nabi”. This was followed by two sisters, Meerab Ajaz and Ayman Ajaz reciting a beautiful Naat called “Terey Hotay”. There were further nasheeds by Sehmoon Khan and Malaikah Ali who recited “Give thanks to Allah (SWT)”. Laibah Latif, Haleema Riaz and Khadijah Hussain recited a group Hamd called “Allah hi Allah”.

There was a further Naat Sharif by Warina who recited “Jab tu pehda huwa” a poem by Adawiyya Fiaz. Fatima Ali and Zainab recited a Nasheed about mothers, and Rabiah Ayub, Zahoor Fatima and Sammar Basharat recited a beautiful Naat Sharif. This was followed by a group poem by Maheen Anjum, Irtika Mehmood, Alisha Ahned and Anam Ahmed. There was a group speech by Noor Mehmood and Amina Ahmed and then a separate speech by Khadija Nasir, and a Manqabat by Lybah Khan who recited “Syed nay Karbalah may”. There was another speech which was delivered by Aleena Ahmed and Sabrina, and the final speech of the event was delivered by Komal Liaqat and Ayman Ahmed.

The event concluded with Zikr and Salaam. At the end Dua was done for the well-being of all the students, and their families and also for the success of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in his current efforts to improve the conditions of Pakistan. Sister Tahira congratulated the students for their hard work in contributing towards the programme and also recommended everyone to fast on the 9th and 10th of Muharrum. All the students were given refreshments at the end of the programme.
