‘Funerals are bigger than marriage functions’, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
In an exclusive chat with a private TV network, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was asked about a sizeable number of people attending the public gatherings of Nawaz Sharif. To this he replied in the Punjabi language which meant, ‘Funerals always draw bigger crowds than the marriage functions.’ He said that the old guard of the political elite is taking part in the funeral rites and by March, the complete burial of their politics will take place.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that those who are invited to marriage functions attend them but in case of burial, all and sundry including old and new companions and even strangers come to pay their last respects without being invited.
Responding to Rana Sanaullah’s comment that ‘Dr Qadri has understood’, he said that he understood back in 2014 that as long as Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif and their cronies are in power, the rule of law and constitution cannot be established in Pakistan. He said that the corrupt and predatory mafia will have to be sent home in order to establish rule of law in the country. In reply to another question, Dr Qadri said that we staged demonstrations single handedly and will do so if need be. He said that there is no difference with the allies, adding that all are united on the Model Town tragedy.
