This article will discus the legal and religious status of celebrating the birth of the Holy Prophet (saw) in light of the Quran and Sunnah. This is not a comprehensive guide since it is impossible to include all evidences in one article.
By the grace of Allah SWT the third annual Al-Hidayah Residential Spiritual and Educational Retreat has taken place at Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, UK. Hundreds of participants from all over the UK and Europe came to benefit from the one in a lifetime opportunity of spending four days in the company of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

The previous two retreats were life changing for the young participants who were blessed with the opportunity of elevating their spirituality and to purify their inner-selves from lusts of the material world to be replaced by a longing for the Creator.
Alhumdulilah by Grace and Blessings of Allah Almighty around 200 sisters, both young and old gathered to participate in a Mawlid un- Nabi Majlis held at the Minhaj-ul-Qur’an Educational Center in East London . It was a beautiful sight seeing different faces gathering together just for the sake of gaining the pleasure Allah (swt) and His Habib (saw). Quranic Talawat and Darood (recited in Hazur Sayidi Shaykh ul- Islam’s words and style) were recited melodiously to begin the programme.
CONFERENCE : The Last Messenger of Peace (upon whom be peace)
The Minhaj Youth League of Glasgow in collaboration with the Minhaj Women League organised a Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW) programme which attracted over three hundred females. The programme began with Sister Ruhi, president of the Women League of Minhaj-ul-Quran, welcoming the attendees, and then followed by Sister Tasmia Younas (ICIS graduate) who recited Surah Rahman and translated this into Urdu and English to cater for the youth and the older audience. Throughout the programme the Minhaj Naat Council of Glasgow recited greetings and salutations upon the Holy Prophet (saw) as well as reading beautiful Nasheeds in various styles which was enjoyed and appreciated by the audience.
On 15th April 2007, during the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, the Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League by the Grace of Almighty Allah (Subhana wa ta'ala) and the mercy of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho alaihi wa salim) organized a fantastic Mawlid conference in praise and remembrance of the Holy Prophet (Sallallaho alahi wa salim)'s divine and holy birth.
On the 14th April 2007 under the auspices of Minhaj-ul-Qur'an Women League, Islamabad, Pakistan, the sisters organized a program to celebrate the birth of the Holy Prophet (saw). Alhumdulilah, the true message of Milad un Nabi (peace be upon Him and His family) and of Minhaj-Ul-Quran was beautifully and powerfully conveyed to the audience of over 2000 sisters through the deliverance of excellent speeches and touching nasheeds.
Minhaj-ul-Quran International Holds World Mawlid Conference.....
Minhaj-ul-Quran International Held the 23rd Mawlid Conference on the 11th of Rabi-ul-Awwal at Iqbal Stadium Minar-e-Pakistan. The programme started at 8'o clock but the people from all the corners of the country and abroad had already arrived before evening prayer. They say, a major part of the space arranged for the people has already been filled till 7'o clock. Besides that thousands of caravan from four provinces of the country have been arriving to celebrate the birth of their beloved and dearest Prophet (SAW) in a magnificent and novel way. Their enthusiasm display how much love they enjoy for Him.
A wonderful feast was held under the flag of Minhaj-ul-Quran Religious Scholars at Central Secretariat of MQI on the 26th of March 2007. Shaykh-ul-Islam, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri presided over the holy gathering. Many religious Scholars and spiritualists from all the corners of the country participated into it. The religious scholars who were present were Allama Peer Shehzad Saefi, president of Saefi Cirlce Pakistan, Allama Ghulam Asghar Farooqi, well-known jurist, Safdar Ali Qadri, Veteran Scholar of Hadith of Jamia Ghousia from Saman abad, Allama Mohammad Zaman Ayyazi, Allama Abdul Aziz Faizi from Aziz Bhati Town, Hazrat Allama Mohammad Aslam Faridi, Nazimof Minhaj Ulama council Ravi Town, and many other religious scholars from Jamia Naeemia Lahore, Jamia Nooria Rizweia, Jamia Nizamia Rasoolia, and a vast majority of religious scholars from many other Jamiaat participated into the gatherings. Allama Haji Imdad-ullah president of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ullma council Punjab, Allama Mohammad Hussain Azad, Allama Asif Akbar Meer, and along with Miskeen Faiz-ur-Rehman, Ameer-e-Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi, Nazim-e-Aala, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Vice Nazim-e-Aala and many other leaders were present at the occasion.
Al-hamdulillah by the grace of Almighty Allah (swt), the mercy of the Holy Prophet Sallallahu alayhi wa salim and by the Faiz and Barakah of Huzoor Sayyidi Shaykh-ul-Islam approximately 250 women of both youth & older participants, from all over Sheffield gathered to participate in this splendid programme in the remembrance and celebration of the holy birth of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wa salim including the Minhaj ul Quran Sisters from Nelson, Birmingham and Manchester.
By The Grace of Allah Almighty and his beloved Prophet Mohammad (SAW) and fayz of Hazoor Sheykh - ul - Islam Doctor Mohammad Tahir - ul - Qadri on Saturday 24th march 2007 a splendid Mawlid - un - Nabi (SAW) programme was organized by MQI Oslo Norway. Al Hamdulillah approximately 1600 sisters and brothers gathered for this splended event.
Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League Lahore organized a beautiful Nashid gathering (Mehfil-e-Naat) in which thousands of women participated earnestly from all the corners of Lahore to celebrate the Holy month of Rabi-ul-Awwal at Central Secretariat on 22nd of March, 2007. The Holy Gathering began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran and reading Naat of the Holy Prophet (SAW).
As the month of Safar draws to an end, the hearts of certain people, whether they are practicing or not, good or bad, feel a certain warmth that increases as each minute ticks by. Their eyes begin to twinkle. They are full of so much love and happiness that an onlooker will be confused into thinking it is near the end of Ramadhan and Eid is around the corner.
On the 18th March 2007, by the Grace of Allah Almighty and His Beloved Prophet (SAW), Minhaj-ul-Qur’an Women League and Sisters League, Jehlam Cant, Pakistan celebrated the happiest day in the Islamic calendar, the birthday of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW). Sisters from many different backgrounds all gathered to take their part in Allah’s Rahmah and Blessings. Alhumdulilah there was a huge attendance.
