The world is facing a great dilemma due to despicable, inhumane and barbaric acts of terrorism, indiscriminate killings, warfare, anarchy, disorder and suicide bombings over the past two decades. It is not only destroying the peace of any specific region, group or country but has become a major threat to world peace. Young people and students living in various western countries who do not have conceptual clarity regarding Islam are wrongly considering terrorism and indiscriminate killing to be Jihad and are being drawn towards it.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri awarded degrees among the male and female students of M. Phil, PhD and M.Sc. and congratulated them on their marvelous achievement. He said that by founding Ali Garh University, Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan produced a generation of highly educated people. He said that these people played a principal role in awakening the slumbering Muslims of the sub-continent, adding that these were the very people who transformed the landscape of the Indian sub-continent by filling in the intellectual void and ended up translating the idea of Pakistan into reality.
Addressing a ceremony held on July 29 in Islamabad to launch peace curriculum on peace and counter-terrorism consisting of 25 books, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that terrorism is not only the biggest threat to the Muslim world but also to the whole humanity. He said that the terrorists defamed Islam for their financial interests and acquisition of power. He said that the terrorists are given funds of billions of rupees to spread mayhem and chaos, adding that the funds trails continue to remain hot even today, which is unfortunate.
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has stated categorically that ISIS and other similar organizations belong to ‘Khawarij’ and they have got nothing to do with Islam or teachings of the Holy Quran. He said that shedding the blood of innocent people is against the fundamental ideology of Islam and the holy Quran. He said that the time has come to clash with full force against those who spread mischief and violence in the name of Jihad and brainwash the youth into doing evil things. He said that such irreligious people and terrorists are undermining Islam and the Muslim community, adding that Islam is a religion of peace, love, harmony, tolerance and affection.
It was the second time that Dr. Qadri issued a detailed answer curriculum to the fake ideology of Islamic extremist groups. First Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings was issued by him on March 02, 2010. Addressing to the audience, Qadri said that I wished this curriculum must be taught at educational institutes in addition to mosques and Islamic institutions so the people come to know about the real Islam that is the name of peace.
In his speech at the Globsec conference in Bratislava,Slovakia (18 June 2015), David Cameron chose to address the issue of religious extremism and radicalization. He was guarded in his language in stating that there were “some” people holding “some” of the extremist views, but that they didn’t “go as far as advocating violence” but they did, “buy into some of these prejudices giving the extremist Islamist narrative weight,” which “turns simmering prejudice into murderous intent.”
The month of Ramadan is a very special time for Muslims across the globe, as it is a time when people strive harder than ever to please their Lord and gain blessings. Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, abstaining from food or drink for the whole period. This can also be classified as a Jihad in the way of Allah, for inner peace, purification and satisfaction as well as a Jihad against one's lower self also known as Nafs.
I have prepared the Islamic curriculum on peace and counter-terrorism to help tackle the distortions of religious teachings that lead to radicalisation. It is an unfortunate fact that through the actions of a minority, Islam and Muslims have become closely associated with terrorism. As a result, Muslim citizens or residents of western countries have come under increased scrutiny, with questions being raised about identity, multiculturalism and loyalty to the state.
The anti-Isis book - Islamic Curriculum on Peace and Counter Terrorism - comes in separate editions for youngsters and Muslims Imams. "It's absolutely imperative that Imams, clerics and parents teach the counter-arguments as outlined in our curriculum to protect young Muslims from being brainwashed by their propaganda," Tahir-ul-Qadri told Asian Image.Condemning the Isis, Tahir-ul-Qadri, who was among the first of the Muslim scholars to call suicide attacks in the name of jihad as wrong, observed that the militant group "is an enemy of humanity".
The central idea of the curriculum is to counter extremist ideology through Islamic theology. It is based on the assumption that young Muslims are particularly vulnerable to radicalisation when they don’t know much about their faith, and fits in with MQI’s overarching aim of educating the masses about their religious rights and responsibilities.“The curriculum can be used in schools, madrassas, mosques, to teach young people that Isis is completely opposite to what Islam stands for, and what Quranic and Prophetic teachings are,” Shahid Mursaleen, spokesman for MQI, tells me.
The curriculum is described by the organizers of the event as a syllabus that provides study material to form the basis of educational programs and campaigns against religious extremism and radicalization, and for the promotion of peace. He now hopes the government will implement a mandatory ‘anti-radicalization’ sector to the national curriculum. Dr. Qadri said that lessons on “peace”, “counter-terrorism” and “deradicalisation” should be made part of the national curriculum in state schools. “It is essential to teach people of all ages and faiths that terrorism is a violation of Islamic principles”, he added. Dr. Qadri said his curriculum draws on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad ‘based on love and tolerance and coexistence and togetherness’, in order to dismantle what he considers the flawed ideology of terror groups.
