Mumbai: Renowned Islamic scholar of Pakistani descent Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Mohammed Tahir-ul-Qadri on Thursday condemned all acts of terrorism and said the concept of Jihad has been hijacked by terrorists. Author of the acclaimed book 'Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings', Dr Qadri, who is living in Canada for past few years because of threat to his life in Pakistan, said this while delivering his keynote address via a live video feed at the "People's SAARC Prayer for Peace", an interfaith roundtable conference to promote peace, solidarity and harmony in South Asia.
The interfaith prayer meeting and roundtable conference was jointly organised by the Observer Research Foundation Mumbai, a not-for-profit public policy think tank, and an NGO Minhaj-ul-Quran International, India. He also called for peaceful relations between India and Pakistan stating that instead of considering each other as sworn enemies, they should unite to fight their real common enemies of poverty, disease, illness, corruption and underdevelopment. “We need to create a society free of poverty and corruption with equitable distribution of resources, without abuse of power, one that respects human rights, with the positive use of research, science and technology,” he said.
"Dr Qadri's participation in the meet is part of the initiative 'People's SAARC' we have established to make South Asia peaceful. Peace in the region cannot be achieved without active guidance of faith leaders and Dr Qadri is among leading faith leaders of the region who have impacted millions of people," said ORF (Mumbai)'s chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni. Spiritual leaders of Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism, Christianity and Sikhism will also participate in the roundtable discussion and the prayer meet.

Pakistan Awami Tehreek leader Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that authoritarianism of the political elite holds sway in Pakistan. He said that there is no democracy in the country and what is often described as democracy by the vested interests is ‘majbooriyat’ to put it mildly. He said that this oppressive system is taking away from people their right to life. He said that his peaceful and democratic revolution would be guided by Article 38 of the Constitution, following which the government of the people, by the people and for the people would be established.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri spoke at a Danish youth seminar on “Delegitimizing the Al-Qaeda Narrative” hosted by Minhaj Youth League Denmark in Copenhagen on Thursday, December 12, 2013. The background of the seminar was that Minhaj Youth League Denmark has introduced and implemented the “Fatwa on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings” authored by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in the curriculum of the education system in an attempt to equip the youth about real teachings of Islam and stop any possibility of their minds being polluted with extremist ideology. Incorporation of this aspect was the dire need of the time.

Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the leader of PAT, has said that there is an agreement among all five schools of thought i.e. Hanafi, Maliki, Shafai, Humbali and Ja`fri that launching an armed struggle against an Islamic state is un-Islamic act. He said that according to all schools of thought, such a thought falls in the category of rebellion and crushing the rebels is in keeping with the Islamic law. He said that Islam clearly forbids the organized armed struggle and use of force against an Islamic state, adding that such an act should be dubbed as revolt.

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government has decided to include Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri books in the curriculum of universities across the province in order to laud his services. KPK government released direction to all universities for adding specific books in their libraries written by Tehreek Minhaj-ul-Quran’s chairman Tahir ul Qadri, local newspaper reported. According to the reports, special circular had been released to 19 universities of KPK by the government having directions for updation of libraries with the scholar’s books.
As per the practice of yester years, Minhaj Welfare Foundation has arranged for collective sacrifice throughout the country in general and in Township in particular where over 1000 animals including goats, and cows, etc. would be slaughtered on the blessed day of Eid-ul-Adha.
Only education can reform society: Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League
Addressing an organizational and training workshop held under the banner of Minhaj Women League, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of MQI’s Supreme Council, has said that the revolutionary agenda of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is not the product of the present age. It rather dates back to 1972 when even MQI had not come into being nor were there any MQI workers. Dr Qadri conjured up the broad contours of the revolution at that time.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the Holy Prophet (SAW) advised those whose fathers pass away to mete out excellent treatment towards the friends of their fathers. He asked the youth to stay connected to a mission with which their parents had been connected. It is a mission through which we got the lesson of respect and reverence for the Holy Prophet (SAW), piety, cleanliness and goodness, adding that it is their responsibility to stay in touch with this mission.
