Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri is the deputy chairman of the board of governors of the Minhaj University, Lahore (MUL), and professor of economics in the school of economics and finance at the university.
Addressing a "Martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as) & Unity of Umma Conference" held under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran Ulama Council, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as) cannot be considered as the killing of a human being. Rather the purpose of martyring Imam Hussain (as) was to hurt the Holy Prophet (pbuh).
Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said educated youths that are blessed with the strength of character, are the future of Pakistan. He said that protecting the youth from extremism and violent attitudes is the responsibility of all parties and religious scholars. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is going to start 40-day series of lectures on the topic of 'Halqa al-Tarbiyya' from the fifth of the holy month of Ramadan.
